Last Saturday 1082 Squadrons Cadet Warrant Officer and Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet Melissa Doody was invited to watch the annual Trooping Of The Colour ceremony held at Buckingham palace.
The ceremony marks the official birthday of Her Majesty the queen.
Wing commander Phill Giles, Squadron leader Alyn Thompson, as well as other guests alongside CWO Doody watched the parade unfold at the horse guards parade followed by lunch at the RAF Club.
So on the whole, a very memorable day for Melissa and hopefully Her Majesty too!
The NACATC Fairbourne camp has today come to a close.
This camp was a fantastic opportunity for cadets to take part in activities they wouldn’t usually have the chance to do so.
Just a few activities that cadets have taken part in this week are,
Swimming competency tests
Blue radio courses
A guided tour round Old Slate Mine
So gaining badges as well as completing all the above has made for a very successful and enjoyable week!!
Every year, 1082 squadron participate in Trent Wing athletics. This year we took along 6 cadets to take part in a multitude of different sporting activities. The cadets also had the chance to integrate with other squadrons.

Last night, 1082 Squadron received a visit from Wing Commander Tony Wright!
He came to carry out the squadrons Annual Formal Inspection (AFI) but instead had a talk to our cadets regarding important issues such as mental health awareness and motivation. The cadets also had a chance to ask WC Wright any questions they might have. These could be about anything. We had some great ones!
After this, our cadets presented to WC Wright & the squadron about a variety of topics such as flying & gliding, master chef, cyber & radio as well as camps and adventure training.
On the whole, a very memorable night for 1082!
